From NE Calgary to Altadore: how to make a longer spa trip worth it
From the northeast, Mood is a 15 to 35-minute drive. That’s worth it for a longer visit: a massage with steam and sauna, a body treatment, or a laser session. Here’s how to plan it.

The short answer
Mood is in Altadore, SW Calgary (2049 42 Ave SW). From NE Calgary it’s about 15 minutes from Bridgeland and 30 to 35 minutes from Saddle Ridge, Skyview Ranch and Redstone, outside rush hour.
That’s a trip worth planning around a longer visit: a 90-minute or 2-hour massage, a salt glow body polish, time in the steam room, or a series of laser sessions booked on days you’re already heading south.

Make it a longer visit
When the drive is half an hour, a 30-minute appointment feels like more travel than treatment. These visits make the trip count:
The long massage (about 2 to 2.5 hours)
A 90-minute or 2-hour massage with one of our Registered Massage Therapists, then time in the steam room or, for Mood. clients, the infrared sauna and a shower before the drive home. See steam room vs sauna.
Body and massage (about 2 hours)
A salt glow body polish first, to smooth and soften skin, then a 60-minute massage. It’s an especially good combination in a dry Calgary winter.
Massage and nails (about 2.5 hours)
A 60-minute massage, then a gel manicure or pedicure, finished last so nothing smudges.
Planning a laser series from the northeast
Laser hair removal takes about 6 to 8 sessions, weeks apart, so you’ll be visiting regularly for most of a year. Book each session for a day you’re already in the south or central part of the city, like a workday downtown or a weekend errand. Evening appointments until 8pm Monday to Thursday help. Read how many laser hair removal sessions you need and start with a laser consultation.
Brows and threading too
If you come in for a massage, add a quick brow threading or brow tint at the same visit. Threading is quick and pairs easily with longer appointments.
When to come
We’re open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 8pm, and Friday and Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Midday on a weekday is the easiest drive across the city; evenings after 6:30pm are good too, once the Deerfoot and Crowchild rush has eased.
