Massage for NW Calgary: RMT appointments a short drive down Crowchild
Mood is in SW Calgary, but for much of the northwest we’re a straight run down Crowchild Trail. Here’s how far we are from your community, and how to choose the right massage when you get here.

The short answer
Mood is in Altadore, SW Calgary (2049 42 Ave SW), not in the northwest. For most of NW Calgary we’re 10 to 25 minutes away, usually straight down Crowchild Trail, exiting at Flanders Avenue.
Our Registered Massage Therapists offer massages from 45 minutes to 2 hours, plus reflexology, with evening appointments until 8pm Monday to Thursday.
How far is Mood from NW Calgary?
Approximate drive times outside rush hour. Allow more time at peak hours, especially on Crowchild.
| From | About | Usual route |
|---|---|---|
| Kensington, Hillhurst | 10 minutes | 14 Street or Bow Trail to Crowchild Trail |
| Montgomery | 14 minutes | Bowness Road and Parkdale Boulevard to Crowchild Trail |
| Brentwood | 14 minutes | Crowchild Trail |
| Mount Pleasant, Crescent Heights | 14 minutes | 14 Street or Centre Street and Bow Trail |

| Tuscany | 24 minutes | Stoney Trail and Glenmore Trail |

From the far northwest, Stoney Trail and Glenmore Trail can be quicker than Crowchild when traffic is heavy. Your map app will know on the day.
Choosing the right massage
Most people searching for a massage in NW Calgary want one of three things: to ease a problem, to recover from activity, or to switch off. Here’s what fits each.
To ease a stiff neck, back or shoulders
Book a 60-minute massage and tell your therapist where the problem is. They’ll spend most of the time there. If the tightness feels deep and stuck, say so: your therapist can work that area with slower, sustained pressure. Read what therapeutic massage is for more.
To recover from skiing, running or hockey
A 60 or 90-minute massage gives time for legs, hips and back. Recovery massage is best a day or two after a big effort, like a long run on the Bow River pathway or a weekend of skiing in Kananaskis, not right before one.
To switch off completely
Book 90 minutes or 2 hours and let your therapist know you’re there to relax. Add reflexology, 30 minutes of pressure on the feet that many people find deeply calming.
Make the drive worth it
If you’re coming across the river, pair your massage with something else:
- Steam room or infrared sauna after your massage. Mood. clients can use our infrared sauna and shower as part of their visit. See Why Mood.
- Nails. Book a gel manicure or pedicure right after your massage.
- Hair. A cut or colour after your massage, so you leave with clean, finished hair.
Evening appointments help too: we’re open until 8pm Monday to Thursday, so you can come after work once the Crowchild rush has eased.
About our massage therapists
Massage therapy isn’t a regulated profession in Alberta yet, so the RMT designation comes from membership in a professional association. Our therapists belong to NHPC or CMMOTA. Many benefit plans cover massage from association members; check your plan and ask us for a receipt.
